Scary Movie (2000) is an example of Black people in horror and blaxploitation while also having a Black director, Keenan Ivory Wayans. The film is a parody of other horror films making it a horror comedy. The Black characters are heavily stereotyped and falls victim to “the Black person dies first” trope. On the other hand, since the film is a parody it confronts many different stereotypes for the other characters based on their backgrounds as well. Meaning Black people are not the only targets for exploitation in this franchise.
