Ric Salinas is the second member of Culture Clash. He was born in El Salvador and migrated with his family at an early age. He was raised in the Mission District of San Francisco. He went on to college and graduated with two degrees: one in broadcasting communications and speech communications. After his graduation, he worked for a PBS affiliate in the Bay Area. He was a producer for youth programming. He created a program called Home Turf. The show was about break dancing, graffiti, and rapping. Salinas continued with his traditional television job while doing the occasional show with Culture Clash. The point came where he decided to go all-in with Culture Clash and quit his Television career. His family disapproved of this as he was giving up security for a dream. Salinas believed that he could say more with comedy and Culture Clash than he could if he continued with television. 36 years later, Culture Clash has been successful but Salinas has had individual success as well. He has appeared in films, stand-up, and even done his own performances, the latest being 57 Chevy.
