One Teach, One Assist

What it Looks Like

Teacher 1: Teaches the whole class
Teacher 2: Walks around the room helping students as needed

Purpose

  • Individualized support
  • Questions and misconceptions can be addressed immediately.
  • 1:1 support

Parallel Teaching

What it Looks Like

Teacher 1: Teaches half the class
Teacher 2: Teaches half the class

*Both teachers are teaching the same content

Purpose

  • Differentiation of instruction
  •  Allows for increased student participation in discussion
  • Hands on lessons that would benefit from being taught in small groups

Alternative Teaching

What it Looks Like

Teacher 1: Teaches the majority of the class
Teacher 2: Teaches a small group

Purpose

  • Remediation
  • Assessments
  • Enrichment

Teacher 1: Teaches one station
Teacher 2: Teaches a different station
*There is a third independent station
