The map contains building projects commissioned by Augustus including roads, bridges, aqueducts, temples, buildings, and entertainment venues. According to ancient Roman sources, Augustus restored eighty-two temples in one year. Furthermore, he boasted that he found Rome a city of bricks, and turned it into a marble city.
